Our uniquely designed nationally accredited Four Wheel Drive Courses aim to educate and train individuals,
groups or employees in off-road Four Wheel Driving techniques. The program is based on a number of levels of capability and
places particular emphasis on "Preventative Awareness Driving". Education and training is provided through our highly
trained instructors to individuals or groups of participants, resulting in higher driver confidence, attitudinal change, hands
on experience and a better overall understanding.
The facility is purpose built, with a comprehensive Four Wheel Drive Track, including a number of Four Wheel
Drive obstacles such as a water bath and mud holes. The course involves classroom time and extensive hands on experience.
These courses can be designed to meet organisational specific requirements. Please
contact TISC regarding your organisational or group requirements.
Course duration is 1 to 5 days depending on capability level required.
For example:
· Introduction to 4WD (1 day )
· Intermediate 4WD (3 days)
· Advanced 4WD (5 days)
Comprehensive course notes are supplied and the course can be completed using your own vehicle (subject to a mechanical inspections prior to the beginning of a course). TISC can supply a suitable 4WD if requested. A certificate is presented on completion of the course.
All applicants must hold a current driver's licence (Probationary Licences are acceptable) and will be required to produce the licence on the day of the course.

This course includes all content from Introduction to 4WD course in addition the following learning outcomes.
· Practical Driving
- Steep and difficult terrain
- Driving in mud
- Water crossings
- Vehicle maintenance
· Recovery
- Safe use of multiple snatch straps
- Safe use of vehicle mounted and/or portable winch
This course includes all content from Intermediate 4WD course in addition the following learning outcomes.
· Conducting vehicle recovery in difficult terrain using advanced techniques.
- Safe use of a high-lift jack
- Winching – offset/redirect
- Vehicle recovery in difficult terrain
All 4WD drive courses can be customised to suit particular requirements with regards to expected driving conditions and likely recovery scenarios.
