Industry Training Advisory Board (ITAB)

Transport Training ACT

Transport Training ACT [TTACT] is the business name of the ACT Regional Transport & Distribution Industry Training Council and is a bipartite industry training advisory body [ITAB], with a board representing local and national transport organisations.

Sectors covered by the organisation are:

  • Freight (road and air)

  • Bus & Coach

  • Furniture Removals

  • Taxis & Hire Cars

  • Distribution & Storage
  • These sectors account for approximately 1,600 businesses in the Region, employing over 16,500 people. In addition to this are many non transport companies which employ transport and storage workers as part of their operations.

    TTACT is a part of the national Transport & Logistics Industry Skills Council network which it assists with the development of industry competency standards. These standards not only define the different functions within the industry but also form the basis of nationally accredited training, including traineeships.

    Other TTACT’s functions are to provide industry skills advice to government and to develop and promote quality training for the transport and related industries.
